About Matthew Stuart
I was born and raised in southern Rhode Island. I have been working in the "real world" for 25 years and recently started painting again. My artwork has been displayed throughout New England in galleries and shows. I am the winner of a congressional art award which was for my colored pencil drawing of "Autumn Leaves 1987". This piece was displayed in congress for a year. I am also a graduate of The New England School of Art & Design (Boston MA.1993) Majoring in graphic design and illustration with a minor in photography. My most common medium of choice recently is acrylics on canvas. Recently having melanoma cancer and a brain tumor (10/23) I have been reflecting on my work made while I was sick for over a year. I see the illness in my painting style. Praying for good health forward! I look forward to making some more interesting work...Thanks for checking out my page! Matt Stuart
